Google Passes Microsoft For Most Visited Site In The World

Google surpasses Microsoft as world's most-visited site from the San Francisco Chronicle reports that Google is now more popular than Microsoft, in terms of worldwide visits.

According to comScore, Google had a million visitors more than Microsoft in March 2007. Google had 528 million unique visitors, while Microsoft had 527 million visitors in March. Not only is Google more popular in traffic numbers, as we reported earlier this week, Google also passed Microsoft as the most powerful brand, according to one survey.

Postscript From Danny: comScore has yet to post figures itself. Watch here. The article is pretty specific at first in in talking about Google and Microsoft's popularity as sites, but then it later mentions popularity in terms of properties.

I'm pretty sure it's actually property figures that are being used (IE, traffic to all sites owned by Google, rather than just Google.com, versus traffic to all sites owned by Microsoft, rather than Microsoft.com. I make this assumption because the last worldwide figures released for February used property stats).

The only problem with those stats is that one never knows if 'LIVE' is being counted as a seperate domain or if it is included as part of Microsoft's numbers?

Also, is YOUTUBE seperate or a part of Google's numbers?
