Thailand Changes Mind, Won't Sue Google Over Insulting King

Thailand Drops Plan to Sue Google from the Associated Press reports that Thailand has changed their mind on suing Google over the insulting videos of their king that were posted at YouTube. Vissanu Meeyoo, the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology spokesman said, "We decided not to sue Google because it has agreed to cooperate in removing 12 video clips from the YouTube Web site."

Thailand was ready to charge Google with "lese-majeste," which can put someone in jail for up to 15 years. Google issued a statement to Thailand, "We have the deepest respect for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej."
