More Rumors: Yahoo After Bebo? Google Launching Phone Service?
The Daily Telegraph reports Yahoo is after Bebo, a social networking site, while TechCrunch reports hearing a rumor that Google may launch its own phone service in the UK.
The Telegraph reported that Yahoo is going after Bebo but Techcrunch is not convinced of the rumors, saying "Telegraph isn’t exactly known for breaking tech M&A stories, and the rumor has an exceptionally weak source."
TechCrunch has its own rumor, saying Google may launch a UK mobile network. They expect Google to strike a deal with O2 to become a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO). Google is not expected to sell the service via physical stores, but rather online only. Nokia handsets with Google software preloaded would be offered.
We've had many rumors about Google in terms of mobile phones. Gphone? The Google Phone Timeline gives a recent recap of these.
