Google Appeals Belgium Newspaper Case Ruling
Google appeals Belgian copyright law, talks ongoing from MarketWatch reports that Google is appealing the copyright case they lost in Belgium.
The Belgian court ruled that Google did violate copyright law against several Belgian newspapers. As expected, Google appealed this verdict today and hopes to persuade either the courts of the newspapers to change their mind.
MarketWatch reports:
An appeal hearing is scheduled for July 17 in the Belgian court, but a person familiar with the situation said the company will use the date to request an extension of its right to appeal, pending negotiations.
