Yahoo Search Adds Travel Shortcuts
The Yahoo Search Blog has announced that they have added new Yahoo Travel shortcuts.
If you search on a travel destination, such as Jerusalem, up comes a shortcut box with travel related information. It looks like this:
In this pretty shortcut, you are given information on the destination including:
- Visitor Guide
- Hotels
- Restaurant Guides
- Maps
- Travel Options
- Top Rated Things To Do
- Slide Show of Pictures
- and more...
Other example searches that work include Paris, Hanoi or Sydney. But there are hundreds US and international destinations that currently work, plus they plan on adding more.

Quick comment for the travel related link builders/publicists. This new Yahoo search feature offers multiple new linking opportunities for relevant content oriented sites related to the search term. Follow Barry's Jerusalem example and
look at the various content elements from the perspective of linking potential. Some are paid, but others are editorially driven and thus could be lobbied for. Regardless, this is a great example of a positive parasitic linking opportunity.
Very cool.
