More Join YouTube Class Action Suit Copyright
More parties join Google copyright lawsuit from Reuters reports that eight more parties have joined the class action copyright lawsuit against Google's YouTube.
As we reported earlier, the lawsuit that English soccer's Premier League Ltd and music publisher Bourne & Co have against YouTube is now beginning to get more support from other companies. Some of the new companies involved in the lawsuit include the National Music Publishers' Association, the Finnish Football League Association and author Daniel Quinn.
Many feel that Google is "encouraging copyright infringement to generate public attention and boost traffic to its site," as Reuters reports.
Dan Johnson's Premier League spokesman said:
The clear and growing message to YouTube and Google is simple: their callous and opportunistic business model is contrary to right, contrary to law, and must and will be stopped.

The original class action lawsuit was filed in New York on May 4, 2007 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
