Google's DoubleClick Acquisition Likely To Be Approved

Google-Doubleclick deal seen winning approval from Reuters reports that some antitrust experts believe that Google will win the right to acquire DoubleClick. The Federal Trade Commission is reviewing the details of the acquisition, but even with the opposition from Microsoft, Yahoo, and privacy advocate groups, the deal seems likely to go through.

Mark Kovner, an antitrust lawyer with Kirkland & Ellis, said:

The agencies have been looking at head-to-head competition...seems like a jury-rigged market definition. To the outside observer it seems like advertising is a big wide open field.
