Nathan Stoll, Long Time Google News Product Manager, Leaves Google

Nathan Stoll, a long time Googler and the Product Manager of the Google News service, announced at his personal blog that he has left Google. His announcement came about three weeks ago, but he is now officially not a Google employee. Nathan said:

I've decided that it is time for me to move on from Google, and have resigned effective at the end of 2007. I made this decision after very careful consideration, checking my logic with many mentors and overcoming my sadness at leaving so many friends. I leave with an enormous amount of fondness and gratitude, and wish everyone the very best.

Nathan has not yet told us what he will be pursuing next. A start up? A job at Microsoft? Taking some time off? He does drop a hint:

I've been comforted by the realization that Google benefits by my departure to tackle new endeavors.

But no one really knows exactly what that means.

Nathan's last post at a Google Blog was named And Now, Google News Sitemaps, where they announced Sitemaps support in Google Webmaster Tools. That post was back in November of 2006.
