Hungry For Yahoo? Feed Yourself From Ya-Hoo! Baking Co.
Did you know you could get some tasty food from Yahoo? Well, not Yahoo the search company, but Ya-Hoo! the baking company at YahooBakingCo.com.
Notice, part of the Ya-Hoo! name is the exclamation point at the end. The main difference between Yahoo! and Ya-Hoo! is the hyphen separating "Ya" and "Hoo." In the footer of their site, they write, "not affiliated with Yahoo!, Inc. the search engine company."
The Ya-Hoo Baking Company is located in Sherman, Texas and has been in business since 1944 -- a heck of a lot longer than Yahoo.
Hat tip to Nacho Hernandez for showing this to us.
Postscript: As expected, both Eric Goldman and Gary Price sent me more information on the relationship between these two companies.
In the 90's the two parties litigated over this trademark issue and settled the case. There are two articles Eric sent me on this matter, Similar yet different? and Yahoos settle trademark suit from News.com. Gary sent me the details from the case filings.
