Yahoo, You're Not Off The Hook Over The Chinese Dissidents Case Says New Lawsuit
Yahoo Sued Again for Assisting the Persecution of Chinese Dissidents from the Epoch Times reports Yahoo is being sued once again for allegedly leaking personal information and aiding the Chinese Communist Party in Internet censorship and the persecution of dissidents.
The China Democratic Party, China Social Democratic Party and the New People's Party filed suit against Yahoo in San Francisco Federal Court a couple days ago. The suit named Wang Xiaoning and Guo Quan as being persecuted by the CCP because of Yahoo.
Although Yahoo has settled with two Chinese dissidents, they are said not to have "openly apologized" for the act. I guess the people behind the suit must have missed Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang apologizing openly before a US Congressional hearing.
In any event, the group says 60 people were persecuted because of Yahoo and it is their duty to file a case for them. The suit is also because of censorship of former Nanjing Normal College associate professor Guo Quan, who is asking for China reform.
