Funny Microsoft Live Search TV Ads That Should Be Aired

Two weeks ago, I attended a Microsoft event in London to talk about its progress in search. One of the highlights were these fake, hokey TV ads they showed us in between breaks. I loved them. They're especially funny if you know Britain, but anyone should get a chuckle out of them. Videos are below, via Microsoft's Mel Carson. If Microsoft were brave, they'd actually get aired.

Video: Live Search 4 - The hunt for saucy hotel snaps

An inside look at the machinery of how Live Search works. Lots of gears and gadgets, heh. And the request? "Oh look. A Mr. G. Swanson from Hemel Hempstead has just requested an image of the Hilton Hotel in Paris without any clothes on."

How you never imagined Live's celebrity xRank search works.

Video: Live Search 5 - Fancy a picnic darling?

How Live Search can help you find a place to eat and save you from tinned food killing you off instead during a picnic. "Was that tin labeled potato or ... poison?" and "Having realized they're just about to die, there's time for one last cigarette."

Video: Live Search 6 - A terrible secret!

"I've tried, but I keep using the same old lousy search engine." To his father's despair.

Video: Live Search 1 – Plucky powered skates

I love the part in this when the narrator explains how this man's eco-friendly scooter is powered by "his wife's disappointment."
