Take A Ride In Google's Hot Air Balloon
If you visit the Google home page today, you will notice they have a hot air balloon logo up. The logo is to commemorate the first demonstration of a hot air balloon carrying passengers. This event took place on June 4, 1783.
The balloon was made by 2 French brothers, Joseph and Etienne Montgolfier. It lifted off from the center of Paris and flew for a period of 20 minutes. That day marked the "birth of hot air ballooning."
