Google Maps For Mobile Adds Transit Directions
Google Maps launched transit directions within Maps back in October of 2007. Now, Google Maps is bringing you that data directly in Google Maps for Mobile. Google Maps for Mobile version 2.2 brings bus and train schedules, prices, routes, and directions directly on your mobile device.

Other features added in version 2.2 include faster searching on BlackBerry devices and star ratings for businesses.
Are these new features available on the iPhone or for non-Blackberry or Java-based mobile clients? Not yet, but Google said they are currently "working to bring public transit directions to Google Maps on other devices."
