Dana Lookadoo, a longtime and well-loved member of the SEO community who passed away this year, was celebrated in a tribute from a fellow SEO consultant and friend, Alan Bleiweiss, during the ceremony. A scholarship fund to help marketing students earn their degrees has been set up in her honor at DanasFund.orgBleiweiss announced that as of the close of the US Search Awards dinner, the fund has raised nearly $10,000. Contributions can be made through the fund link above.

The US Search Awards were started by UK agency British events agency Don’t Panic, which also launched the UK and European Search Awards.

All in all, it’s been a great couple of weeks to celebrate the achievements of those in the industry. Last week, Search Engine Land presented our Landy awards at SMX East in New York. You can find the winners here.
