I hate link building, always have, always will and considering Google frowns upon it discourage everyone from doing it. Why not just create content that people want?

people have to do link building until unless Search Engines take out backlinks from ranking factors…

Anyone else find it humorous that the article seems to basically blame business owners for the entire state of link building? Who set up those standard link metrics, business owners or bad SEO’s? I’d think most business owners would be competent enough if you have enough good examples for them to understand what you’re selling-

I guess in the end it depends on what you consider “link building”. Even if you create great content, that doesn’t mean people will link to you.

Sometimes you do have to go out of your way and do actual link building.

My goal here was some playful satire. But I think you’re right – so-called “SEOs” are the ones that really messed up link building. We’re also the ones (hopefully) trying to fix it…

Every inbound marketing tactic can pay dividends. The real magic is when they all work in harmony – but if you’re getting that return why mess it up?

After the Google algorithm has came and arrived link building methods has a big changes.. we have to avoid using the Black Hat SEO method… that is how most link builder hates doing link building cause there’s no progress when you keep doing wrong methods then you were penalized by the Google algorithm.

I still have clients asking me to build links based on quantity. I also have experienced SEO professionals asking me to write copy with 5% keyword densities. It is slowly killing me inside!

Backlinks are as important as backbone. It seems that its getting weak day by day. how hard you try you get only few things. Crazy but feeling a little helpless.
