It seems most of that is keyword research, not link building.

    “Link building” is dead.

Ubersuggest is quite possibly the site I visit most everyday, with the exception of Google! You can also put the results it gives you into the ADWords keyword tool to get traffic estimations, CPCs etc.

I agree to some degree. The article content isn’t 100% reflective of the title. But the tools above do help in some stages of the link building process.

The very best way to generate content and links is to think outside the box, also Reddit helps, the SEO sub and blackhat sub can make for good reading and spark interest for future posts

You’re right: UberSuggest and Google Analytics can clue you into some great long-tail keywords to use when creating content. I should have tied it in more to what to do with the long-tail content you created and where to market it out for links. Thanks for the comment!

I think keyword research can very well be a nice synonym for link building. I personally think that these two are very well co-related even though I was agree the title of the blog post is a bit misleading

” I love conversion-oriented link building tactics. It makes sense: you
don’t build links for the sake of building links; you build links for
the sake of getting customers.” Totally agree, I personally use this quite heavily. When I want to target a keyword I know before hand whether optimizing it will bring me more conversions than other keywords. The more conversion data I have, the better I can define link building targets.

Sorry, I must be missing something with the Ubersuggest point: great keyword tool, but could you explain how that leads on to link-building?

Very good insight for finding keywords and potentially good link neighborhoods. Perhaps a few of the keyword suggestions and a few search commands in Google might do the trick too. :)
