Microsoft AdCenter advertisers have longed for some way to verify that their ads were running, and a solution is coming, promises a blog post from Microsoft Advertising.

The fix will come in the form of an updated ad preview tool, which will let advertisers see whether their ads are showing generally, or to a targeted audience. The tool will also have targeting and diagnostic feedback functions.

AdPreviewTool

Once it launches — expected in the next few builds of the platform — advertisers can enter targeted terms, specify language, publisher domain, and traffic origin location at the country, state and city level. This will enable to verify that their ads are showing to that particular audience. The tool will also provide diagnostic feedback to let users know if their ad isn’t showing because of a poor quality score, because targets aren’t selected properly, or, when targets are selected but there are issues with payment, ad disapproval, or other account management problems.

AdPreview 2

The company says it will soon make the Ad Preview Tool accessible to people who are not logged into adCenter, so advertisers won’t have to call agencies — they can check it out themselves.
