Bing Ads AustraliaAfter months of planning, today Microsoft announced the launch of Bing Ads in Australia and New Zealand. In a joint partnership with Mi9, joint venture between Microsoft and Nine Entertainment Co. The addition of Bing Ads gives Mi9 its first foray into search advertising.

Steve Geelan, National Sales Director, MMN & Bing at Mi9 said in a statement, “Bing is very much the challenger search brand in Australia, so we’re excited to be able to work with Microsoft to bring this advertising platform to market. Competition is necessary in any industry to keep it healthy.”

Microsoft claims 3 million of Bing’s 5.5 million Australian and New Zealand users are unique to the engine — meaning they don’t use Google. Bing Ads does not include Yahoo in Australia and New Zealand.

Bing Ads added Brazil to its list of countries served earlier this month. The platform is currently available in 27 countries with another 5 planned to launch soon. Microsoft has plans to expand the ad platform to an additional 16 countries.
