Over the next few weeks, Bing is rolling out new updates to its image search experience that include touch-friendly search result pages that have been designed to adapt to a user’s screen size and resolution.

According to the announcement, image results will soon expand to the full width of a user’s screen and include exploration suggestions dynamically placed per a user’s screen resolution.

Users can swipe through content or click an image to see related images, “Everything is touch friendly, responsive, fast and fluid.”

Bing says the updates follow its recent mobile enhancements, creating a consistent experience across desktops and tablets.

One of the new image search features includes a “mini-header” that slides as a user scrolls through images. Bing said the mini-header takes up only 10 percent of screen space so as not to distract from the image search experience, but still offers the option to change or refine the search query.

Bing said the new image search enhancements will be rolling out in stages to desktop browsers and tablets in all markets over the coming weeks.
