Google Testing New AdWords Site Search Extension

google-adwords-square-logo A new flavor of AdWords form extensions has been spotted. It's a site search box, and according to Google, this test is related to the drop-down navigation extension seen in August. Users can perform an internal site search of the advertiser's web site right from the search results. After users types in a search query and clicks the "Search Now" button, they are taken to the product search results page on the advertiser's site. In other words, internal site search results become the landing page. This could be a powerful extension, in particular, for retailers advertising on category key [...]

Google App Indexing: Google Can Index & Link To Content In Your Android App

android logo Google announced that they can now index the content within Android apps. The mechanism for doing so, they call, is app indexing. App indexing allows webmasters to connect pages from your web sites with specific content within your Android app. This enables Android smartphone users who have your app installed to open it directly from relevant mobile search results on Google. Here is a picture of it in action: For example, a webmaster who has a recipe website and an Android app can benefit from this. When a Google searcher on a mobile device is shown one of your recipes as a search [...]

5 Conversion Tracking Tips For AdWords

google-adwords-square-logo Last month, I covered how to use call tracking for AdWords to shed some light on how to track phone calls as conversions. This month, I'd like to continue in that vein and share some more tips for tracking and optimizing by conversions, whether they are of the call or online variety. When I first joined Google in 2002, conversion tracking didn't even exist in AdWords until I helped build it. So it gives me great pleasure to see how much more advanced it's gotten since those early days of PPC. 1. Automate Bidding Based On Call Data Shortly after I wrote about the complexity of counting the [...]

Google Adds Glassware Page For Glass Apps But Missing A Search Box

google-glass-featured Google has quietly added a new section to the MyGlass site for Glassware. This section will be the location Google Glass users will be able to discover and manage the apps (i.e., Glassware) they can add to their Google Glass. As you know, Google opened up Glassware submissions to developers and when that opens up, Google needs to give Glass users and easy way to find these apps. The link is available via the top navigation under the MyGlass page: Then it loads a page that shows "Featured Glassware" and "All Glassware." What is interesting is that there is no search box to searc [...]
