Google’s embeddable map feature out next week from The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Google Maps will be adding a YouTube like embed maps feature, as early as next week.
Carl Sjogreen, Google Australia’s senior product manager, announced this feature in Sydney today. The feature will be rolled out worldwide in about a week’s time, said Carl Sjogreen.
Yes, currently you can embed maps on your web pages. However, it is not as simple as copy and paste. You need to use the Google Maps API or their applets to make that possible.
This new feature, seems like, you will be able to copy and paste the current state of a map on your web page.

I’m glad to see Google is now going to release this. It’s great when they come out with new features but when other’s can use it on their own websites it’s so much better and used so much more than if it’s only available on google.com.
This makes sense, as there are numerous Maps related positions posted at both Melbourne and Sydney offices. Geo-spacial studies, data-mining, software engineering, etc.
