Facebook To Allow Users To Delete Search Activity

Facebook announced users will soon be able to delete their search activity under their “Activity Log.”

The feature is being released over the next couple weeks to all Facebook users. Currently, Facebook users are able to delete other activity, like status updates, under the Activity Log. Now, Facebook will be allowing you to do the same for your searches.

Here is a screen shot of how it will look:

Facebook said:

Starting today, in addition to your other activity, you’ll be able to see the searches you’re making on Facebook. Just as you can choose to delete any of your posts, you can use the same inline control on Activity Log to remove any of your searches at any time. It’s important to remember that no one else can see your Activity Log, including your search activity.

Facebook’s CEO said they will be working on a Facebook search engine in the future but right now, the only searches you will see in your activity log are searches done on Facebook.

I don’t see why I’d need to delete it if it’s private anyway. I’d prefer the option to make it public.

good move. hearing stuff like this makes me (still remotely) consider getting a personal FB account again. for now, i’m sticking to a business page only. the mahoosive privacy issues was one of my main reasons for leaving.

That’s great move to Facebook, but Barry can Facebook create a feature disable the unknown people to send us direct messages?
The people those are not our friends can send us directly messages which is not acceptable sometimes.
I am waiting for such type of feature. :)
