YouTube’s New Inline Ads: Screenshots from NewTeeVee has screen captures of the inline ads in YouTube that we have been anticipating for a while.
The ads display at the bottom of the video, much like a text ad, but has a play button. When you click the play button on the ad, it overlays the video with a new video. The new video is an advertisement that shows a yellow progress bar, instead of a red one, showing the progress of the video ad. Also, when the video ends, you should be able to see the ad at the top of the video.
The video referenced by NewTeeVee for having the ad was My Chemical Romance - Famous Last Words. However, when I try it, the ad does not display. I see a black empty bottom, on the video, but not the ad that belongs there. Maybe it was a timing issue; maybe it was a Mac issue; I don’t know. If you don’t see them, check out NewTeeVee for the screen captures.
YouTube Video Advertising: No Pre-roll, No Context from Techcrunch’s Duncan Riley comments that he does not see this becoming a “massive winner.”
