Google announced that they have acquired Marratech‘s video conferencing software (not the company, just its software).
Google wrote the acquisition will “enable from-the-desktop participation for Googlers in videoconference meetings wherever there’s an Internet connection.”
I suspect (as do many others) that it will also enable Google Docs users to do conference calls and share presentations made using the forthcoming Google Presentations, in the future.
Postscript: Google tells us they’ve been using the software internally in a limited capacity and plan to expand its use inside Google itself. They had no comments on plans to share it with the public.
