Google has launched the featured snippets in 10 new European locales. Featured snippets are when Google will highlight a single search snippet and pull it out almost as an answer to the query, and present it at the top of the search results.

Last week, RankRanger reported Google expanded the feature in Europe. A detailed review shows they are indeed correct. Google launched the feature in 10 new European locales including Czech Republic (Czech), Denmark (Danish), Germany (German), Finland (Finnish), France (French), Italy (Italian), Netherlands (Dutch), Norway (Norwegian), Poland (Polish) and Sweden (Swedish).

They also have it in the United States and 10 other locales. This means Google supports these 10 languages globally, but this is the first launch to bring it to the EU in these languages.

Here is Google’s FAQs document on featured snippets.
