Google has announced a few new features in its Google Insights for Search keyword research tool. The most important, in my opinion, is a new forecasting feature that aims to extrapolate future popularity of keywords (based on historical trends and search patterns).
Google says this forecasting feature is only available on a certain set of queries. I’ve been able to get it to appear on more generic phrases like “real estate,” “car sales,” “children’s furniture,” and even “seattle restaurants.”
Another new addition is an animated map that visualizes the ups and downs in search behavior. Google also says that Insights for Search is now available in 39 languages.
