Google AdWords Adds Placement Performance Reports Showing Content Network Data To Advertisers

Google, as expected, has added a new report type to give AdWords advertisers the ability to see the exact sites their ads are displaying on within Google’s content network. These Placement Performance reports will detail the domain, URL, impression, click, conversion and cost data for each site an ad appears on.

Unfortunately, the site-by-site detail will not be available within the AdSense for domains product. Google told me this is something they hope to add in the future.

Placement Performance reports are now available to all U.S. advertisers, and launching globally within weeks.

Advertisers have been requesting these types of reports ever since Google launched the content network. Google does allow advertisers exclude specific sites from displaying their content ads. But this new report gives advertisers the knowledge to make informed decisions on which sites to exclude from content network.

Here is a screen capture of the new report view:

Postscript: The official Google press release is now live for your viewing pleasure.

7 COMMENTS ON Google AdWords Adds Placement Performance Reports Showing Content Network Data To Advertisers

Cavan Moon,

Has there been an official announcement from Google on this? I’m not seeing the new reporting option available to any of my clients who are running on the content network, and they’re all U.S. advertisers. Can’t wait though, this is a long time coming.

rustybrick,

(1) The content network needs to be on for you to see the reports, I would think. If that is not the case, then…

I do not know why the Inside AdWords blog didn’t blog it yet, nor why it isn’t live yet.

There is other coverage on this release at:

So I guess it should be live. :)

brad geddes,

here’s my writeup from about a month ago on this report:

xbmanx,

I am also not seeing this in any of the accounts I manage.

aherebia,

Do you know if these reports will show conversion data (I suppose they will)? Last year, when they added the reports by hour this information wasn’t available.

jeremy mayes,

aherebia - quoted from above:

“These Placement Performance reports will detail the domain, URL, impression, click, conversion and cost data for each site an ad appears on.”

BTW, checked over 100 US accounts this morning and not seeing this report option in any of those accounts.

Kyle M Brown,

We also noticed that these reports were not available. We contacted Google AdWords Support, and according to Google, yesterdays deployment has been delayed for as long as 2 weeks.

Placed a post on my blog with their response. http://www.adwords-articles.com/blog/google-adwords-blog/adwords-content-network-placement-reports/

We waited this long so I guess two weeks wont hurt.
