This is interesting news I didn’t know before. I’ve seen some hicks and jumps on results pages recently and when tried to find current news for search engines I was sent to here. You way sandbox is retired, but is there any pace to test how results differ with “normal” Google search and new engine search? I’d greatly appreciate more information about the subject.

Great article Matt, I think this is the best I’ve seen in the last few weeks. I wonder if the China hack slowed this update up? Anyway, you confirmed my hunch that Caffeine is still rolling out. I used a simple little datacenter pagerank check to test my theory.

might seem so, but i guess google knows exactly what it’s doing. an interesting question would be why google is doing all this. caffein is’nt an ordinary update like we were used to see (or not), this one seems to be a major software tuning. if one reads the signs, like i.e. googles just got the ok to purchase energy at low rates or looks at jeff deans spreadsheet on googles intended global expansion, one might conclude: google’s up to something big…
