Google Blogoscoped reports that the rumored Google Docs for Mobile is now live. You can search on docs or peruse a list of your documents. However, only some document types are available for viewing. Right now “word” docs are available and so are spreadsheets (although they rendered somewhat awkwardly for me), but you cannot access presentations. Microsoft has a mobile version of Office that does allow mobile access to its various document types from certain phones, but not from “the cloud.”

Below are some screenshots from my Google Docs files.

Google “word” docs render much better on mobile than its version of XL. Over time, however, this will become a useful extension of Google Docs desktop functionality and utility.
