Google Maps Aggregates Midterm Election Forecasts

Google has joined forces with a handful of political web sites to track forecasts for the upcoming U.S. mid-term elections. Those forecasts are available now at maps.google.com/elections2010.

By default, the map begins by showing the outlook for nationwide Senatorial races. You can filter to see a specific state, data from a specific source, or you can switch to see House and/or Governor election forecasts, too. (Google uses the word “ratings,” but I think “forecasts” is more accurate; the map shows which candidate/party is expected to win.)

Google is sourcing the data from Cook Political Report, Rothenberg Political Report, CQ Politics, and RealClearPolitics. The data is updated daily, and there’s also a tool for embedding the map on your own blog or website.
