Google Maps brings faster, smoother scrolling to Street View
Fluid scrolling and swiping replaces more awkward arrow-advance navigation.
Google is replacing the clunky “arrow navigation” in Street View with a smoother “blue line” that allows users to swipe and scroll through images more quickly. I discovered it last night by accident.
Here’s an example of the old navigation from the desktop version of Maps:
Here’s what it now looks like on Google Maps for the iPhone:
Images resolve more quickly and smoothly. And while I wasn’t able to reproduce it on Android, I’m sure this will come to all versions of Google Maps very quickly. It’s not clear how many people use this feature, or how extensively. But now it’s quite a bit easier and more fun to use.
