Hi Danny. Thanks for the pimp your g profile tips. I just checked out your profile. I noticed that your profile URL id is all numbers (the default option) instead of your google account username. You likely did this on purpose so people wouldn't spam your inbox - but just in case you didn't you can change it to your username by going to your profile and changing your profile URL. The option is at the very bottom. Might provide a little boost in relevancy.

Note to Matt C - I wish the Google team would've given us the option to change the profile URL to what we want it to be like LinkedIn does...

Non-USA peeps, don't look for this option in your Knol profile - it's not shown to us. From the Name Verification FAQ:

"Name Verification is still an experimental feature. It has about a 50% success rate in the United States and is not generally available outside the U.S."

and

"I can't see the "Name Verification" tab in my Preferences

Because we are only able to verify name information for addresses and phone numbers within the United States, we don't display the option to any author visiting the site from outside the U.S."

I can answer the PageRank question. Links from these profile pages don't give any extra PageRank or reputational boost just because they reside on google.com. A link from these pages is only worthwhile to the extent that other sites link to it. There's no inherent benefit or boost from these google.com pages or links.
