Google is celebrating the 540th birthday of Nicolaus Copernicus, a mathematician and astronomer who was the man who came up with Heliocentrism.

As you can see, the Google logo is of Heliocentrism, where the planets revolve around the sun and the sun is stationary at the center of the Solar System.

Today being Nicolaus Copernicus’s 540th birthday, Google felt it was a good way to celebrate his life contributions to the world. The Doodle is worldwide across all Google properties.

Nicolaus Copernicus was born in Toruń (Thorn), Royal Prussia, Kingdom of Poland on February 19, 1473 and died at the age of 70 in Frauenburg on May 24, 1543. You can learn more about his life at Wikipedia.

Today’s Google logo is animated and can be viewed on Google.com.

Absolutely amazing Google doodle for the individual who have given his efforts to find what is right in past time. Nicolaus Copernicus was made first display of model which is heliocentric of mini solar system.

Not sure Galileo would appreciate Google’s graphic…seeing as he was placed under house arrest for a good part of his life by the church, for daring to suggest the Earth revolves around the Sun.
