JenSense reports spotted Google testing a yellow background color for the top sponsored results in Google. Typically, those ads have a light blue background color, but Jennifer Slegg saw a yellow version and snapped a screen capture. I have heard others seeing this randomly, so it is possible that this is a running Google AdWords user interface test.

To my knowledge, Google has been testing different colors of the AdWords for some months now. The version I saw last month of tend to be more orange-ish.

Great idea for differentiating between paid and unpaid listings.
The biggest moan I get from clients is that they want to be top and not in the side bar - I hope this will move forward.
