Google Thinks Google UK & Preston Lodge High School Are The Same?

Go to Google and search for [google.co.uk], Google’s UK home page. Google will return a knowledge graph result for Preston Lodge High School. What does Preston Lodge High School and Google UK have to do with each other? I am not sure.

Searching Google for [google.com] does not return the same high school. In fact, it returns what you might expect, it returns the Google Google+ page.

Why is a search for google.co.uk returning Preston Lodge High School’s Wikipedia result in the Google Knowledge graph box? I cannot figure it out.

A quick look at the Wikipedia page reveals the following line:

“Google chairman Eric Schmidt once attended the school, but was only there for three months before being kicked out.”

Perhaps something in the algorithm is picking this up and associating it with Google.co.uk? That’s the only reason we can think of.

@seoconsultadmin:disqus – there has been a revision of the Wiki page earlier today – see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Preston_Lodge_High_School&diff=515793535&oldid=515793469 (if that doesn’t work, click on ‘view history’ tab and compare revisions)… you can see that the words ‘Google Chairman’ have been added in.

If this is the reason why Preston Lodge High School are appearing, then it’s pretty tenuous!
