The Inside AdWords Google Blog announced that all US-based advertisers should now have the TV ads option in their account. In fact, you should see the option after logging in to your AdWords account at the bottom, where it says “Other Campaign Types.” Here is a screen capture of that section:
Before today, TV ads were supposedly beta invite only, although they did a major TV ad push a few weeks ago.
Google is also offering a promotion to encourage AdWords advertisers to try the TV ads. The promotion gives you up to $2,000 worth of credit towards producing a TV commercial.
How much do your ads cost? Well, Google says you pick a “maximum cost-per-thousand impressions that you’re willing to pay, and only pay when your ad airs.” Here is a grid that shows some more pricing information:
