Vanessa Fox of Google Webmaster Central announced an upgrade to their anchor text reports. Anchor text reporting was added last month, as Danny’s Google Now Reporting Anchor Text Phrases article covers. In that, he had some wish list items. The new features include some of those and other changes:
FYI, it appears anchor text and link tool reporting tools are currently down. I suspect it is a temporary issue and will be fixed shortly.

I noticed the new anchor text analysis in my webmaster account yesterday. It looked very promising. I was shocked to see some of the terms used to link to our site. It also helped me find a spam site that has css hidden text in their site linking out to other sites (mine included) that I will probably report soon.
By the way, I am a new lurker and first time commenter. Thanks for the valuable information provided here.
