Google Winsor McCay 1350303461Google is celebrating the 107th anniversary of the comic strip by Winsor McCay named Little Nemo.

The comic strip originated on October 15, 1905 in the New York Herald and continued through July 26, 1914 at William Randolph Hearst’s New York American newspaper.

This is Google’s first comic strip logo, where you click on the logo and the strip continues. Now, it is also rare in that Google is not celebrating the life of the creator but rather the creation’s anniversary. So instead of celebrating Winsor McCay birth on October 13th, Google is celebrating the Little Nemo debute on October 15th.

Here is a large version of the full comic strip as you would see on Google’s home page:

I believe the Googlers who created this Doodle include +Ryan Germick, +Jennifer Hom and +Corrie Scalisi.
