Today is Paul Cézanne’s 172nd birthday and Google is remembering his work with a special Google logo. Paul Cézanne was a painter and artist born in 1839 and died in 1906. Here is a picture of the Google logo:

Google tweeted this morning that the logo you see on the home page was first created as a real oil painting by a Googler and then digitized. Google posted the following picture to show off the real painting.

As Google said, “Today is Paul Cezanne’s 172nd bday. To inform our homepage homage, we made a real oil painting first.”
