Today is the 71st birthday of the first showing of the movie, The Wizard of Oz. To celebrate the day, Google has a special doodle, aka logo, up for the significant date. The Doodle barely makes out the name Google, but it is clearly a representation of the movie.
Here is a picture of the Doodle:
I should note, there is some confusion for those who have set their custom background on Google.com. You will see “doodle balls” spinning, which signifies a Google Doodle is available on the main Google home page. To see it, all you need to do is click on the doodle balls. I have more information about how that works at the Search Engine Roundtable.

The Google doodles have lost all charm for me ever since Memorial Day when they couldn’t be bothered to even display an American flag.
Seriously, the 71st anniversary of The Wizard of Oz rates a special doodle but a national holiday honoring the men and women who have given their lives in service to this country is completely ignored?
You can keep your cute doodles, Google.
