Today’s Google logo celebrates Earth Day with a new interactive doodle highlighting the many wonders of nature. The logo comes with its very own checklist of things to see, making sure users catch every detail.
Google is spelled with different elements of nature from the field of dandelions that makes the “G” to the cave openings for the “Os” and a stream of water and tree for the remaining letters. By hitting the play button, the doodle moves from day to night and through the four seasons. Clicking on various objects within the doodle displays animals and weather changes.
The doodle was created by Leon Hong and his team of collaborators with a special thanks to school teacher, Dr. Juan Fernandez, who served as the team’s science adviser. Carbon neutral since 2007, Google is a regular Earth Day supporter and has committed a number of resources to renewable energy initiatives.
