Overall search positioning is important (to look at the trending) but at the end of the day it is about how many visitors, sales and leads a website receives from their SEO efforts.

What kind of data should I be looking for in an analytic.

It seems like GoogleAnalytics isn't giving me these search terms, and I want to know where people are coming to our site from (and leaving to). Can you recommend an analytic tool that gives these numbers?

(I'm using Joomla 1.0/1.5)

Thanks,
Karl

Search engines look for content. At least that is what they are looking for. Linking may help, but I have my sites rank first in Google search frrst page without link. Just concentrate on headline, title, content and keywords fo every 150 or 200 words in a narrow long tail niche keyword

OneArmedSEO,

well, yes you can... If you perform your SEO efforts properly you can pretty much define which pages will appear for specific searches. By using incoming links properly, strengthening the right pages and adding relevant content you can "help" search engines understand what these pages are about.

Hope it helps.

Huh, I wasn't aware that you could force Search Engines to index pages of your choice just by applying SEO to them?? Oh, unless you're talking about landing pages for your paid search campaigns??

Last time I checked you couldn't??

Anyone, anyone??
