Google will have to pay the bills! I love and like this announcement because when Google is about to close the SEO trend and wants peoples and companies to use only adwords in order to make more money than why don’t pay all taxes for each country services.

Would you be singing the same praises if you had a wildly successful business and some misguided government official decided to make you pay for someone else’s business expenses?

Google is cannibalizing the entire internet. If Google intends on being the toll taker of the internet, as they are with their dominance in search and how they use it to propel their expansion into other industries, countries should tax them accordingly.

Great read! Local content has become so crucial in today’s world. And, now that Google has rolled out recent interface changes like (http://www.chatmeter.com/googl… and launched Hummingbird (http://www.chatmeter.com/is-hummingbird-flying-google-into-the-future-of-local-seo/), taxing Google to protect local content could be the right move going forward.

Something else to consider: Google would be forced to increase ad rates in Israel to cover its higher costs. Ultimately, advertisers (including Israeli advertisers) would be subsidizing local Israeli media–even in cases where they’ve chosen not to advertise in those media.

Sorry, folks, but there is no free lunch.

I don’t understand who these “local content creators” are who would be receiving the money from the new tax. Site owners who display Google Ads already get revenue from Google. It sounds suspiciously like the big news sites are looking for a new way to line their coffers.
