Search Engine Land has had a group on Facebook for some time
here, with
nearly 1,300 members. Now we’ve added a
Facebook page
that you can join.

The difference? To be honest, I think many people including myself are still
figuring it out. As a brand owner, I find it odd that I couldn’t migrate a group
into being a page, or that some of the Facebook Apps for pages like showing a
blog feed don’t seem to work, not to mention frustration that our page has a
number like this:

https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=7138936668

Rather than something like

facebook.com / searchengineland

It’s also odd that once you make a page in a particular category, that’s it
— you can’t change things. Anyway, I’m visiting at Facebook later today, so
play with our page, leave some comments on what you’d like to see in the
comments below or within the Facebook discussion board on the page itself, and
I’ll gather them up for my visit in case I bump into the right people.
