New Ask Datacenter Expands Search Capacity

In the on again off again debate about whether Ask remains serious about search, a new blog post suggests that Ask is making a bid to improve its search index and efficiency, having completed a move to a new datacenter: Our engineers were going to have to spend more time on improving efficiency, and less time on new feature development. Ask.com Chooses Central Washington For New Data Center

Ask.com, Intuit bringing new data centers to state reports that Ask.com has selected Washington State for the location of a new data center, designed to help save Ask.com money on power. Although Ask.com did not mention which building they have selected, we know they "signed a lease in an existing building in Moses Lake." Rumors are that they have picked the Titan building, which is in a "former NORAD Missile Control Center."
