Of the big three search engines, one could argue that Google is directing the most focused, ongoing effort toward mobile. Clearly Yahoo and Microsoft see mobile as a critical part of their business but Google is more or less continually doing things that seek to improve the mobile user experience. Google Takes On Tourism With City Tours Experiment

City Tours is a new addition to Google Labs that puts Google squarely in the tourism business: Give it a city name, and Google not only suggests sites to see, but it also maps out a multi-day itinerary and proposes a minute-by-minute travel schedule for you to follow. And what's really impressive is that City Tours doesn't only cover the standard travel hot spots like New York, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. Google Maps Let’s You Discover “What’s Here”

Google Maps has introduced a useful new feature called "What's Here," which allows you to use the map as a kind of discovery tool. Select a point, right click and the menu appears with a new choice "what's here," allowing discovery of -- you guessed it -- what's at/around the designated site or point. The answers and options change depending on the level of zoom. User-generated maps and content appear along with more traditional data sources in the left pane accordingly.
