Google Giving Stock Tips With Domestic Trends

The Google Blog announced a new trends project named within Google Finance named Google Domestic Trends. In short, Google tracks searches on Google.com and then groups those search volume metrics into industry sectors. Google will then plot the search volume by several industry sectors on a trends graph and allow you to then overall stocks and indices on top of those search volume trends. Google Search, Video & Finance Testing Interface Changes

It appears that Google is testing new user interfaces for Google Web Search, Google Video Search and Google Finance. On Google Web Search, Google is testing showing "Review This Site" as a link, as opposed to a graphical comments icon. On Google Video Search, Google is testing additional search filters on the left hand side. And on Google Finance, Google is testing a new side bar. Let's dig deeper into each Google test. Drill, Baby, Drill: Google Finance Gets Ads; Google News Testing Them

In my Ad Age column last month, I joked about Google taking a "drill, baby, drill" approach in rolling out more ads everywhere on its properties. Now the latest ad reservoir to be tapped: Google Finance, as announced today on the Google Blog. Google Adds News Blog & Finance Blog
