Google Adds Fighter Jet To Air Fleet

A New (Fighter) Jet for Google’s Founders? from the New York Times reports Google has added a new jet to their fleet of Boeings. The new Jet is actually a fighter jet, commonly known as an Alpha Jet. This jet has rights to land at Moffett Field, like the others. NASA told the NY Times that this jet will be outfitted with "scientific instruments for NASA missions, including instruments that the other planes could not carry." Matt Furman, a Google spokesman, told the NY Times, "because of the type of aircraft we are talking about, NASA now has the ability to do even more than they could [...]

Make That Google Jets: Google Founders Add A Boeing 757 To Their Fleet

Google Founders Pick Up Another Big Plane from the New York Times confirms last week's Valleywag report that Google's cofounders have added a Boeing 757 to their current air fleet. Yes, the Google founders already have a Boeing 767 and a helicopter, so they decided it was time for another huge aircraft. NASA Ames Research Center released the agreement (PDF) with a company controlled by Google cofounders Larry Page, Sergey Brin, and Google CEO Eric Schmidt. On page 37, the agreement lists aircraft that are allowed to land: a Boeing 767 (the existing Google Jet known about), two Gulfstream V [...]

Your Guide To The Google Jet

It's now confirmed that NASA has granted Google's cofounders landing rights for their private jet at Moffett Field. Google Jet Lands At NASA’s Moffett Field

Valleywag reported that the Google Jet was spotted on the tarmac at Moffett Field, which is operated by NASA. Moffett is a very convenient location for jet owners Larry Page and Sergey Brin to land at, since it is the closest runway to Google's headquarters. Can we expect the Google cofounders land their private jet here again? There are suspicions that Google & NASA's past partnerships may have led to a side deal where Google can use this airfield for their own commercial purposes. Google execs take off with landing privileges at Moffett Field from the San Francisco Chronicle goes into t [...]
