The Google Reader Blog announced several new features for Google Reader. The big feature is search. You can now search your subscriptions, including subscriptions to shared items. Google Reader also enhanced the unread count numbers to show up to 1,000, as opposed to up to 100 unread subscriptions. Got a Google Gadget? Google's now reporting how many users make use of it, in addition to the pageviews figures it started posting earlier this year. The new user stats can be found via Google's Homepage Content Directory. A reader sent us a screen capture of Google News now showing a link to add news searches to Google Reader. As you can see from the screen capture, Google News has a link that reads, "Subscribe to a news feed for [query] in Google Reader." Google Reader has now announced that it is now providing subscriber counts, the number of people who read your blog through feeds at Google Reader or the Google Personalized Homepage. The Official Google Reader Blog informed us that Google Reader has added a trends feature to Google Reader users. You can access your Reader trends here or via the link on the main page that reads "New! See personalized trends for your subscriptions and read items."
