It’s Google’s latest “moon shot.” Google Glass. A wearable computer that offers hands-free access to both the consumption and creation of online content. Some say Glass changes everything, while others remain skeptical about Glass’ place in the digital future.
This much is certain: Many brands have already built — or are currently designing — apps and experiences for Google Glass, from Facebook and Twitter to Trulia, Salesforce and Fidelity. And more are certainly on the way as Google prepares for the public launch of Glass in 2014.
In the Glass Act: Search Marketers Talk Google Glass session at SMX East, a handful of speakers — who also happen to be current Glass Explorers — will discuss the marketing and search implications of Google Glass in a Powerpoint-free session.
We’ll begin the session with a brief demo, showing attendees some of the standard Glass functionality including search and social sharing to Twitter, Facebook and Google Glass. The panel will discuss its experiences with Glass, both the likes and dislikes, in open conversation. We’ll be sure to focus on the marketing angle, and we’ll leave plenty of time for audience Q&A. When the session is over, you’ll also have a chance to try Glass on and experience it yourself.
